Little Rock, Arkansas (August 28, 2024) – Summit Utilities, Inc. (Summit) is pleased to announce that Todd Jacobs is joining the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Based in Little Rock, Arkansas, Jacobs brings 18 years of energy sector experience to his new role at Summit. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Growth and Strategy at Black Hills Corp. where he led state operations in Arkansas and Kansas, focusing on customer and growth strategies.
Jacobs has a distinguished background, having served as an active-duty Army officer with the First and Second Infantry Divisions. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Virginia Military Institute, a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and is a graduate of The Executive Program, an advanced management program at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.

As Jacobs transitions into the COO role, which is now based in Little Rock, Arkansas, he succeeds Jason Weekley, who has served as Summit’s COO since 2018. Weekley played a pivotal role in overseeing a growing operations team through multiple acquisitions and transitions.

Todd Jacobs Bio:
Todd Jacobs currently serves as Summit Utilities’ Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, oversees operations, construction, engineering, asset integrity, external affairs, and gas supply, ensuring safe and reliable energy delivery across Summit’s service territories. Prior to joining Summit, Jacobs served as the Senior Vice President for Growth & Strategy for Black Hills Energy, where he led teams focused on developing and implementing customer and growth-focused solutions and strategies, including strategic planning, business development, regulatory, governmental affairs, communications, community affairs, sustainability, and renewable natural gas initiatives.
Prior to that role, Jacobs served as the operations leader for all of Black Hills Energy’s natural gas utilities, which served over one million customers across six states. His other operations roles at Black Hills included state operations leadership of the Arkansas and Kansas natural gas utilities. Prior to joining Black Hills Energy, Jacobs worked at Spire and Missouri Gas Energy in legal, regulatory, and corporate services roles.
