At Summit, we understand we are only as strong as the communities we serve, which is why each year we partner with local charitable organizations, industry groups and our employees to give back to those we serve and their communities with these goals in mind:
Support the betterment of the communities, environment and people we serve, enhance relationships within those communities, and support business development and growth.
United Way
Each year, Summit and its subsidiaries partner with the United Way to raise money for charitable organizations throughout our communities. Employees help by being an advocate, giving, and volunteering with the United Way. The company also matches employee contributions to the United Way Campaign up to $5,000 annually in each state where we operate.
Charitable Giving
At Summit, we strive to create a lasting, positive impact through our charitable initiatives. We believe that helping communities in thoughtful and impactful ways today lays the foundation for a brighter tomorrow. Our efforts center on tackling challenges tied to social and economic factors, and we focus on collaborating with organizations that align with our mission, vision, and values.
Volunteerism
As a community-oriented company, we are committed to giving back to those we serve, which is why we provide each employee with up to 20 hours of paid time off annually* to use towards volunteering with non-profit organizations. Some of the activities employees use their volunteer time for include volunteering with local parks and recreation departments, coaching sports teams, cleaning up trash and garbage and teaching in classrooms.
* Benefits for some positions in Arkansas and Oklahoma are governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement and may differ from the benefits we provide to our other employees.
