CENTENNIAL, Colorado (July 12, 2022) – At Colorado Natural Gas (CNG), the safety of its team members, customers, and the communities it serves is a top priority. CNG is celebrating an impressive milestone: as of Thursday, June 16, 2022, CNG marked six years without a recordable injury among its team members.

To put this in perspective, the CNG team has gone more than 2,191 days or 52,584 hours without a recordable injury.

For years, CNG has strived to build a culture of proactive safety and the metrics reflect that. CNG focuses on training team members to recognize hazards and then take preventative measures to eliminate or mitigate those hazards, so that everyone stays safe.

“I am honored to work with such a safety-minded team,” said Mitch Pebley, Director of Operations at CNG. “This kind of accomplishment is only possible with hard work and a diligent commitment to safety at all times.”

The safety culture that has been created by team members at CNG shows that working safely can be accomplished.

“Having zero recordable injuries is possible,” said Joe Wilkes, CNG’s Environmental, Health and Safety Manager. “The CNG team is proof of that.”

“Getting to this milestone was a team effort,” said Cody Stoumbaugh, Supervisor of Operations at CNG. “I want to thank everyone on the Colorado team for working together to make this possible and for our Environmental, Health, Safety and Training team for providing us with the correct tools to keep bettering ourselves.”

The CNG team is to be commended for their dedication to the safety of their communities, their colleagues, and themselves.
